David Hall

David moved to Brighton to study in 1977 and has lived and worked in the area since. He qualified in and continues to work in general accounting practice enjoying the experience of assisting a wide range of organisations and individuals from their first steps in business, through the continuing development stages required in the current age.He joined Marks and Co.in 1994 and has not looked back since.

Now living in Southwick, David enjoys cycling to work along the seafront, although on a windy, rainy day, the bike will often be found in the back of his trusty Land Rover. He considers it a privilege to work in Brighton's North Laine with its vibrant mix of people and businesses. He has acted as the Treasurer of the North Laine Traders Association for more than 15 years.

David has seen a number of his clients prosper to a scale exceeding the resources of the Marks and Co. practice but has happily passed them on to the 'big boys' of the accountancy world ( with their correspondingly large fees), in some cases, he still deals with the personal tax
affairs of the company directors who prefer to retain the 'personal touch' of the small practice.

Socially, David spends most of his time with his large family, kept busy with weekend DIY and dog walking. His camping, fishing and off-roading exploits are now mainly anectdotal but he still manages to find time to support 'The Albion', for better or worse. He is an active
supporter, past Chairman and past President of Brighton Regency Round Table; one of the highlights of his year is being Father Christmas to a local school, distributing presents acquired by the charity to up to 500 children.
